Tuesday - Teaser Tuesday! Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Here are the rules; grab your current read, open to a random page, share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page, be careful not to include spoilers or give to much away (it might ruin the book for others), share the title and author of the book so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
A dark and moving novel about the mystery surrounding a teenage girl’s fatal overdose.
There was something about Ellie... Something dangerous. Charismatic. Broken. Jake looked out for her. Sarah followed her lead. And Jess kept her distance, and kept watch.
Now Ellie’s dead, and Jake, Sarah, and Jess are left to pick up the pieces. All they have are 34 clues she left behind. 34 strips of paper hidden in a box beneath her bed. 34 secrets of a brief and painful life.
Jake, Sarah, and Jess all feel responsible for what happened to Ellie, and all three have secrets of their own. As they begin to confront the darkest truths about themselves, they will also find out what Ellie herself had been hiding all along....
"The truth is, I won't see Concerned Therapist for two hours a week--at least not by choice. When Mom broaches the subject, I'll tell her I'm doing fine. That I am much better than before. Really, Mom. I promise. And she'll believe me. Not because my words sound true, but because sometimes it's just easier for us all to pretend." - Sarah
This weeks TT is really, really emotional because my current read is about a very depressing subject; suicide. Along with a lot of other touchy subjects but I like it.
Link your TT's below! (:
Unfortunately, it is easier to pretend sometimes. I hope there's good things in store for these characters! Sounds like they could use some hope in their lives. Nice teaser! :)

ReplyDeleteLove the teaser! I have been wanting to read 34 Pieces forever! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh you should ASAP, it was sad but really good. (:
DeleteAwesome teaser! I loved 34 Pieces of You! Definitely a good book. Have you read 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher? It deals with the issue of suicide as well and its a really good read. It was what made me interested in this book.
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! Although it sounds really good it also soouns sad, I would have to be in the right frame of mind to read something like that.
