"Road Trip Wednesday" is a 'Blog Carnival,' where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading- related question that begs to be answered.
This weeks question: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! What's your favorite scary book or movie?
My answer: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz, When a Stranger Calls, The Ring, and The Ring Two.
I just finished reading this book but it is definitely one of my favorite reads of this year and one of my favorite books. It had this really creepy/eerie feel to it and there were some seriously detailed gruesome scenes! My review will be posted later today so all of you can see why I love it so much! (:
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was my all time favorite scary book to read when I was in elementary school! The stories were creepy but I feel like the pictures were what really made this book so scary. The illustrator, Stephen Gammell, has some serious talent!
When a Stranger Calls (left,1979) directed by Fred Walton.
When a Stranger Calls (right,2006) directed by Simon West.
The Ring (left,2002) directed by Gore Verbinski.
The Ring Two (right,2005) directed by Hideo Nakata.
I've seen The Ring and The Ring 2 but I'm such a wimp! Too scared to watch most scary movies! However, Anna Dressed in Blood is on my TBR list
ReplyDeleteI first watched them when I was like 11 and they FREAKED me out! Anna Dressed in Blood was amazing! (:
DeleteCrazy! We both mention ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD and an Alvin Schwartz book in our RTW posts. :) I'm really enjoying ANNA so far (love the teen boy voice!), and am finding it not too scary, so that's good. As for horror movies like The Ring, I tend to steer clear. O.O
ReplyDeleteLOL! That's too funny, I'm glad you're enjoying Anna so far!
DeleteI keep seeing people talk about Anna Dressed in Blood - I guess I really need to go buy this one. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween and Road Trip Wednesday!
You definitely do!!!!! I loved it! Happy Halloween to you too! (:
