Ellen Hopkins Quote(17)

Today's quote is again from Tilt, in honor of the release in a little less than two weeks! I just ordered my copy, I'm so excited!! This quote reminds me a lot of the Eternal Eden series by Nicole Williams, if you've read the books you understand why and if you haven't then you should!
Stay tuned for a bonus quote from one of Ellen's other books later today.
Happy reading!

Before the Blog(2)

"Before the Blog" is a meme where bloggers can post a review of a book they read and loved BEFORE they started blogging about books, along with answers to a few questions about their choice which you can find on my blog memes page.
(source:http://yalitwit.blogspot.com/2011/06/before-blog-1-extraordinary-by-nancy.html)

Hardships and heartache brought them together…now it will tear them apart.

Layken and Will have proved their love can get them through anything; until someone from Will’s past re-emerges, leaving Layken questioning the very foundation on which their relationship was built. Will is forced to face the ultimate challenge…how to prove his love for a girl who refuses to stop ‘carving pumpkins.’

Why did you choose this book? I chose this book for my second before the blog because I did Slammed for my first and this is the sequel. I chose to read this book in general because I fell in love with Slammed and all of the characters and needed more!

When did you read this book? I purchased this book right after I woke up from the much needed sleep after reading Slammed and then read it all in one sitting throughout the day. Yes, they're both worthy of losing sleep. (:

Who would you recommend this book to? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys young adult books and contemporary novels! This book was the perfect companion for Slammed and I loved them both all the same. I am really excited for Will's Story, which is the story from Will's point of view. It's expected to be published some time in 2013, a long wait but well worth it.

Happy reading and smile, it's almost Friday!

ATTENTION PLEASE (:

I created a twitter specifically for book related and blog related tweets! I felt bad for spamming all of my personal friends with a bunch of book related things and then spamming followers that were there for book related things with personal tweets! So I decided it would be best to create a separate account. I have the link on my sidebar fixed or you can just type in @BabblingReviews in the search box on twitter. Anyways, sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you all have a fantastic Thursday, the weekend is almost here!!

Happy Reading!

Glow by Stacey Wallace Benefiel Review

Title: Glow
Author: Stacey Wallace Benefiel
Published: July 10th, 2011
Book rating: 3 stars
Cover rating: 4 stars
Zellie Wells has mastered her powers and gotten the guy. She’s lived through her parents’ divorce and being separated from Avery. She’s come back from the dead.
What else is there?
Oh, yeah. REVENGE.
Discover how it all ends when Zellie and the gang finally track down Mildred and fight to right the wrongs of The Society’s past, present and future.

Glow was the last book in the Zellie Wells series and I'm sad to see it go. I'm a bit disappointed with this last book too. It's not that it wasn't good because it was, I'm glad to see that everything worked out but I'm just a little stunned. It got really confusing in some parts and this book flipped between too many characters point of view. It was hard for me to keep up with at times and I found myself rereading things at times which is something I don't enjoy doing. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and I'm sad to say goodbye to all of the wonderful characters in this book.

We finally get to meet Connor, Ben's trigger, and I think Melody finally gets a sort of happy ending even though we don't get a ton of information on the relationship she makes with a new character named Raleigh. This book was still packed with action and crazy twists and turns that surprised me like the first two books and I loved that. This book had some decent humor in it too regarding Aunt Hazel and a man named Roger. We also get to see Zellie sort of take charge and try to protect everyone with Melody and Melody only. It was kind of different but I liked it. Everyone get their own little happy ending in Glow, I really wish we could have learned more about everyone's lives after the craziness simmered down but I can accept how it ended without being royally irritated with the book. If you read the first and enjoyed them you have to read the last book to find out what happens!

I recommend this series even though the ending wasn't all that I expected, all three books are affordable and enjoyable reads.

Glimmer by Stacey Wallace Benefiel Review

Title: Glimmer
Author: Stacey Wallace Benefiel
Published: November 1st, 2010
Book rating: 5 stars
Cover rating: 3 stars

Zellie Wells life is changing. Her relationship with Avery is growing stronger every day, but their parents are still giving them ultimatums and trying to keep them apart. Her newly discovered powers have all but disappeared. Benjamin, another young Retroact, is back and has brought with him a painful shared vision and a troubled past. While working together to figure out what the vision means, Zellie discovers that Benjamin is a worthy friend and mentor. If only he could keep his hands off of her-if only she wanted him to...

Totally sighing right now, I just adore this series. This sequel was such an amazing installment in this series! I dread sequels that are used to just fill the space between the beginning and end of a story. We were given more information in this book and there are some crazy twists that go on in this book. I thought I knew what was going on and what was going to happen but I had no clue. This book was a huge shocker for me! It was full of action which I love, I don't like books that don't have some sort of craziness going on! This was a great book also because we get to see Zellie and Avery's relationship strengthen through hard times, they stick together in this book even though people try to force them apart. It's really admirable to see them not give up like Zellie's mom did.

If you haven't read the first book you have no clue who Ben is but if you have guess what?! We get to learn about him and his past!! He is an awesome character, I absolutely adore Ben. It might sound crazy because of what happened between him and Zellie in the first book but once you read Glimmer you'll understand. We're also introduced to a psychotic character who has some crazy plans swirling around in his head, he had a small part in the beginning of the book. I will not give any names away but once you find out you'll probably be shocked, I was. This book just makes the story of the seers, retroacts, and the society so much better!  If you enjoyed Glimpse you'll definitely enjoy this book more, it was just amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who like paranormal reads, young adult books, or paranormal romance books.

Waiting On Wednesday(2)

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill of Breaking The Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases that you're eagerly anticipating.
(source:http://breakingthespine.blogspot.com/)
Ryan is in LA to promote his latest film, Reparation, which is premiering Friday night. It’s time to introduce Taryn to “his world.”

So if you feel a tad unsatisfied with some of the open-ended threads from Love Unscripted, we still have Slipknot to film with the enamored Jonathan Follweiler at the helm, then there is the global premier of Seaside II with private jets and foreign countries to visit. Seaside III is scheduled to start production in the fall and Pete and Tammy’s wedding is in there too. And what about that script for The Isletin Solution? What are we going to do about that? Hmm…

More secrets, more lies, more drama, and certainly more media coverage. Stay tuned to read what happens to Ryan and Taryn next!!
I read Love Unscripted which is the first book in this series in June, it was such a good read! I loved the characters and the story line. It's definitely more of a new adult book but if you're mature enough I recommend it. I love Taryn and Ryan and I'm so excited to see what happens next with their relationship!

Love Unrehearsed is expected to be published September 14th, 2012 by Atria Books!

This weeks question is: What was the best book you read in August?

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

 Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Obsidian but Onyx was my all time favorite August read. These books are so amazing and I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for Opal. If you haven't read these books you've obviously been under a rock for awhile but now that you know about them you should. (;

Ellen Hopkins Quote(14)

This quote is from my all time favorite book Impulse. Connor, one of the main characters, is talking about his teacher he had an affair with. I think it just shows how lost people can get when it comes to lust and love. He didn't think it was wrong that he had slept with his teacher several times, he thought he loved her and maybe even did. It's just sad really.

Another one about truth but from Ellen's book Tricks. I absolutely love this one too, sometimes it's so hard to see what is the truth and what isn't. It would be much easier if someone could just point it out every time.

I have no clue if anyone is online but I apologize for how late these quotes and reviews are being posted! Blogger hasn't been letting me attach pictures to my posts and I ended up having to use a completely different browser! Absolutely ridiculous but oh well. (:

This quote is so beautiful and completely true about many relationships. The truth can definitely alter and change things in an instant. It's from Ellen's book Tilt which is being released on September 11th! So excited for next month!!

Glimpse by Stacey Wallace Benefiel Review

Title: Glimpse
Author: Stacey Wallace Benefiel
Published: May 9th, 2010
Book rating: 4 stars
Cover rating: 4 stars
Zellie Wells has a devastating crush on Avery Adams, the son of her mom’s high school sweetheart. At her sixteenth birthday party, held in the basement of her dad’s church, she finally finds the courage to talk to him. Turns out, the devastating crush is mutual.

As Avery takes her hand and leads her out onto the makeshift dance floor, Zellie is overwhelmed by her first vision of his death; shocking because not only are they both covered in his blood, but they’re old, like 35, and she is pregnant.

Afraid to tell anyone about the vision, (she’d just be labeled a freaky black magic witch, right?) Zellie keeps the knowledge of Avery’s future to herself and tries to act like any other teenager in love. When they get caught on their way to a secret rendezvous by her mom and his dad, they are forbidden to see each other.

Convinced that their parents are freaking out unnecessarily, Avery and Zellie vow to be together no matter what. They continue their relationship in secret until Zellie learns that their parents are just trying to prevent her and Avery from suffering like they did. The visions are hereditary, they’re dangerous, and if they stay together the visions will come true.

Now Zellie must choose between severing all ties with Avery, like her mom did to prevent his father’s death, and finding a way to change Avery’s future.

What can I say? Glimpse was so much better than I thought it would be. I read a lot of mixed reviews about this book so it took me awhile to actually read it but I'm so glad I did! For one this book was free on amazon so that's always a plus but the biggest plus was it was actually worth the read. So many times I have downloaded a book that was free and sounded like it had so much potential and they always fall short. Which I guess I can't complain because they were free right? But still, this was refreshing.

Zellie is such an interesting character and so is Avery. I think Stacey did a good job creating her characters and making each one of them their own. It kind of bugged me how instant Zellie and Avery were attracted to each other and loved each other but once the background of Zellie and her powers are explained it made sense.  I absolutely love Claire, she is hilarious. She's so sure of herself and her loyalty to Zellie is so wonderful. Even though Zellie turns out to be not so normal and has a ton of crazy things happening Claire still sticks by her and is a true bestfriend. I love Avery, how can you not? Zellie and Avery grew up with each other and they're just bound to be together. I love how he's 16, is starting to get grey hair, and Zellie still finds him as one of the most beautiful boys in the world. That's really rare in my opinion and it's super cute. He takes on the world of Zellie's new life without hesitation because he knows he loves her and would do anything for her, even if it means dying. That's true love and loyalty.  Zellie also has a younger sister who is hilarious, yes I cheated and read the second book before I did my review for this one so I get to know the characters a bit more. Anyways, Melody comes off as a snarky snobby girl at first but once you get to know her you'll find that she really does care for her family and their safety. I love the role she plays in this book and how she falls into place within the supernatural aspect of Zellie's world.

Over all I gave this book four stars because it has very interesting characters who you can relate to in situations even though this is a paranormal read. The plot is full of action, romance, and suspense and it's a really good read. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary novels, paranormal novels, or young adult novels.

Teaser Tuesday(2)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Here are the rules: grab your current read, open to a random page, share two (2) 'teaser' sentences from somewhere on that page, be careful not to include spoilers or give to much away (it might ruin the books for others), share the title and author of the book so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your 'teasers'! (source:http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/weekly-events/)

I've been reading this series this week and it's really good, way better than I expected! Zellie is a very interesting character and she has a good group of characters surrounding her in the story.

"So," Daniel said, taking a deep drag from his cigarette, "what're you gonna do to me?"

"I don't know. This is kind of Melody's thing." What were we going to do with him? Right about now would have been a swell time to have some of Christopher's mind control powers. So much easier! "Hey, where's the cook?"

If I Stay by Gayle Forman Review

Title: If I Stay
Author: Gayle Forman
Published: April 2nd, 2009
Book rating: 4 stars
Cover rating: 5 stars
In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...
A sophisticated, layered, and heart-achingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make, and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

If I Stay is a good read, I only had a few problems with it. I decided to read this book because for one there is a ton of hype about how amazing it is on goodreads and for two it was a book of the month for one of the book clubs I'm in. I think I expected too much from this book and that's why it only got four stars. Don't get me wrong and please do not misinterpret what I'm saying, this book is worth the read and I am very excited to read Where She Went, I definitely recommend you read it. I just feel like the way Mia was so unemotional and detached for so long in the beginning of the book wasn't realistic. To a point yes, adrenaline can cause a delay in the shock of events as traumatic as these but it seemed like it took her FOREVER to realize what had happened to her family and her. After she finally started showing some emotion to what the heck was going on this book got way good, I also loved learning more about her and Adam's relationship. The little scene where they play each other like instruments is so sweet and intimate, I loved it. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys young adult books about trauma, it does have a little bit of a love story twisted in also. It's not a huge, huge part though. I think it will be more about Adam and Mia in Where She Went! (:

Favorite Quotes

"But there's no one else like me around. Maybe the rest of them figured out how to get to Hawaii." - Mia

"I know that all the magic kisses in the world probably couldn't have helped him today. But I would do anything to have been able to give him one." - Mia

"I'm not sure this is a world I belong in anymore. I'm not sure that I want to wake up." - Mia

"I do have a point to all this," she continues. "There are like twenty people in that waiting room right now. Some of them are related to you. Some of them are not. But we're all your family." She stops now. Leans over me so that the wisps of her hair tickle my face. She kisses me on the forehead. "You still have a family, she whispers. - Kim

My Book Boyfriend(1)

“I've always found that the most beautiful people, truly beautiful inside and out, are the ones who are quietly unaware of their effect." His eyes searched mine intently, and for a moment we stood there toe to toe. "The ones who throw their beauty around, waste what they have? Their beauty is only passing. It's just a shell hiding nothing but shadows and emptiness.”

If you've read Obsidian then you know why my book boyfriend for week one is Daemon Black. He may act like a jerk at times but we all know that's just some facade he puts on so he can protect his family and himself from getting hurt. He's a total sweet heart and he is freakin sexy. He's a total smartass and I think it's hilarious. Any time I'd laugh, Daemon was most likely in the scene.  If this man was real, I'd die to be Katy. I mean, a sexy boyfriend who actually cares about you and would risk everything for you who is also an alien? How cool would that be. I imagine Daemon to look like the cover model, his name is Pepe Toth so for more pictures you can just go google him. (:

Seriously though

This book was beyond amazing. I thought I loved Obsidian but it's half of what Onyx is and even with saying that Obsidian is still awesome. I didn't expect so much to happen, I really liked seeing Daemon admit to his emotions in the ending of the last book so it's really neat to see him act on them and show Katy he cares for her more than just a friend or because he feels obligated to in this book. I fell even more in love with him in this book and got to understand him as a character a bit better. For more than half this book I wanted to punch Katy in the face more than once, she's such a clueless girl in Onyx. She did pull her head out of her butt eventually though! I still love her character but she just acts stupid in this book at times. She was infuriating yet it still made me love this book all the more. Just a side note for all of the big fans of the whole laptop scene in Obsidian, there's some pretty steamy scenes coming to ya in this book. They aren't over done in the book though and I really like that! After this book I honestly wish Dee was real or something. I just want her to be my bestfriend, she was really loyal to Katy in this book even though most people wouldn't have been. There's also a new character introduced in this book, his name is Blake Saunders. One sentence for him: Blake Saunders must die. You'll understand after you read the book.

We get a better background about the luxen and the DOD in this book and I was really excited about that. I don't like reading about something and having no clue what's going on. It's always fun to have a mystery but I'm glad Jennifer didn't make us wait for answers too long. This book is very close to the top of my favorites, I loved it and I am anxiously waiting for Opal!

Favorite Quotes:

"Resistance is futile, Kitten." - Daemon

"I was having one of those days where I wanted to start throwing things because only breaking crap would make me feel better. My limit for acceptable weirdness in my daily life had been maxed out." - Katy

"It was like a scene straight out of Beauty and the Beast. I kept waiting for a teapot to start singing." - Katy

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Title: Obsidian
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published: May 8th, 2012
Book rating: 5 stars
Cover rating: 4 stars
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.
Let me just say this

I CAN NOT stress how much I loved this book. Yeah it's not all that new but I just joined the lovely community of book lovers online and I heard something amazing about Obsidian from every other person I follow or am friends with so I figured I'd check it out. I am so glad I did, this book is fantastic. First off, it has the perfect amount of action, well rounded characters that are very likable, and the writing is great.

The fact that Katy is a blogger made me love her, I mean Jennifer even added little details like Katy doing  'Waiting on Wednesday' and 'In My Mailbox' memes. Is that not the cutest thing ever? I really like how she's so feisty when it comes to Daemon and how she tries to hate him but really can't. Relationships like that are hard not to love. Then there is our lovely Dee, the poor girl has an outrageously over protective brother and just wants to have one 'normal' friend. I really felt bad for her when she was afraid Katy was going to stop being her best friend. Dee reminds me of a cute, bouncy, curly haired girl. She's just got that kind of happy attitude, when she isn't yelling at Daemon ofcourse. Speaking of the jerk, I think Daemon has become one of my favorite characters. He's a total jerk face but it's hard not to love him, I hate how he puts on this huge douche facade when we all know he isn't really that way. He was such an interesting character, he's really back and forth with his emotions. I feel for Katy because if Daemon did that to me I'd go insane, literally.

I bought this book yesterday and obviously devoured every bit of it. I can't wait to read Onyx, I'm kind of glad I read it after the second came out because it would really suck having to wait for more of Daemon, Katy, and Dee.

This quote makes me giggle, it's from Ellen's first novel Crank. Crank is the first book I read by Ellen and it's the book that I am forever grateful for. It helped me cope with my sisters past drug addiction. It's kind of based off Ellen's daughter Kristina who had a drug problem but there's fiction twisted into it. You should definitely check it out. It's a wonderful series.

Before the Blog(1)

"Before the Blog" is a meme where bloggers can post a review of a book they read and loved BEFORE they started blogging about books, along with answers to a few questions about their choice which you can find on my blog memes page.

Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's losing hope.
Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.
Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart.

Why did you choose this book? I was browsing through my kindle book store and found the book Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens, this book was in the 'you also might like' section so I clicked it. I read the description and couldn't decide which one to read for awhile, I finally just choose this one and I'm really glad I did!

When did you read this book? On July 29th, I literally stayed up until 5:00 am reading this book. I didn't want to put it down, I don't think I could have if I tried anyways.

Who would you recommend this book to? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys young adult books. I honestly wasn't expecting what I got and it was a nice surprise. This book is really well written. It's a love story with complications but it has it's own little twist. Also, if you enjoy poetry I think you'll enjoy this book too.

Happy reading and smile, it's almost Friday!

Just thought I'd share, I got to participate in K.L. Coones interviews with fellow readers. It was actually really fun. Follow the link I posted bellow to read what I had to say!

Ellen Hopkins Quote(3)

This quote is from Ellen's book Identical. Identical is the most recent book I read by her and I loved it, it's up there with my favorite books. It's a really sad story, this is definitely one of the best quotes from the books and so true for many people.

United Eden by Nicole Williams Review

Title: Fallen Eden
Author: Nicole Williams
Published: July 20th, 2011
Book rating: 4 stars
Cover rating: 3 stars (the girl ruined it for me)

Life’s been many things for twenty year old Bryn Dawson, but one thing it’s never been is easy. And it’s only about to get harder.
As the gossip of Bryn being Betrothed to Patrick, her true love’s little brother, becomes more reality than rumor, Bryn does her best to think positive thoughts, ignore Patrick’s odd behavior, avoid Paul’s relentless advances, and attempts to conjure William back from his latest overseas mission. She fails on all fronts.
The night an army of Inheritors set out with an agenda to deliver vengeance on any Guardian surrounding Bryn, the Betrothal Ball becomes the least of her worries. Instead of worrying about who she’ll be marching down the aisle towards, she has to accept she might not be making the journey down the aisle ever. Happily ever after is about to take a serious hiatus and Bryn’s about to discover the only thing waiting for her at the end of that aisle is a grave.

I've been ranting and raving about this series for the past week and I finally finished the series. It was so bittersweet I literally tried avoiding this book because I didn't want it to end. This book was so perfect, I absolutely loved it. I liked it more than the first two, which is kind of odd. So in this book we finally get to see our lovely coward of a man John again and let me warn you if you thought he was utterly insane and disgusting in the first you have a new thing coming your way. He was absolutely revolting and more evil than ever in this one. It seems like in every book death was nipping at Bryn and Williams heals and it not only was nipping at them in this book, it caught up. Both of them are faced with a few life or death situations. Bryn is her usual self, throwing herself in deaths way to save her family any chance she can get. I'd just like to throw in there though, she isn't as clueless in this book anymore but it's still there. Bryn wouldn't be Bryn if she wasn't clueless though. Then we have our lover boy William, he finally gets to take some revenge on certain people and that was really exciting. THEN we have my book boyfriend Patrick Hayward, I fell in love with him all over again in this book. He is just the sweetest thing ever, I like the part he had to play in this book. It was really heart wrenching to have to see him sacrifice his feelings and put them aside to help Bryn and William. I found myself wanting to cry, laugh, and scream all at once after reading the last page. The only reason I didn't is because Nicole Williams was smart and wrote a spin off series for Patrick. The first one is called Fissure and I think I might be reading that next. All in all, this series was amazing and I'm so glad I decided to push through that first half of Eternal Eden. I definitely recommend them all to my fellow readers!

Waiting On Wednesday(1)

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill of Breaking The Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases that you're eagerly anticipating.
(source:http://breakingthespine.blogspot.com/)

Three teens, three stories—all interconnected through their parents’ family relationships. As the adults pull away, caught up in their own dilemmas, the lives of the teens begin to tilt…. Mikayla, almost eighteen, is over-the-top in love with Dylan, who loves her back jealously. But what happens to that love when Mikayla gets pregnant the summer before their senior year—and decides to keep the baby? Shane turns sixteen that same summer and falls hard in love with his first boyfriend, Alex, who happens to be HIV positive. Shane has lived for four years with his little sister’s impending death. Can he accept Alex’s love, knowing that his life, too, will be shortened? Harley is fourteen—a good girl searching for new experiences, especially love from an older boy. She never expects to hurdle toward self-destructive extremes in order to define who she is and who she wants to be. Love, in all its forms, has crucial consequences in this standalone novel.

Okay guys, you honestly do not understand how EXCITED I really am for this book. I read Triangles, which is one of Ellen's adult reads, and it was a 3-4 star read for me. It was different reading from the adults in her books instead of the teenagers. Anyways, I loved all three of the characters that this story is based on and I'm so excited to see what was going on with them whenever the events of Triangles was happening.

Tilt is expected to be published on September 11th, 2012 by Margaret K. McElderry Books.

Ellen Hopkins Quote(1)

This quote is from her book Perfect which is the sequel/spin off of her book Impulse. I actually just read this about a month ago and I loved it. Impulse is my all time favorite book by her. Impulse is about suicide and self mutilation and includes a little love story. Perfect is about one of the characters in Impulse, Connor's sister Cora and her life back home while Connor is in a rehab. I recommend it to anyone I know. If you don't know who Ellen Hopkins is she has a unique way of writing, she writes novels but in poetry verses. Check her out, she's amazing. (:

This quote is one of my favorites from the book, it's so true in todays society. Everyone is worried about what others think instead of about what they think about themselves. You're all beautiful in your own way, don't forget that!

New feature to my blog!

Alright guys I've decided to participate in Ellen Hopkins' quote of the day project. It's not really a project but I've decided it is. I am  HUGE FAN of Ellen Hopkins and every day on her facebook she picks a quote from one of her books and creates a picture for it. I'm going to be posting them on my blog and maybe adding a comment or discussing them.

Have a good Tuesday and happy reading!

Teaser Tuesday(1)

I am so excited, it's my first teaser tuesday!! "Do you think Pervert, I mean Patrick," Cora shot me an evil grin as we started up her and Joseph's walkway"has heard the rumors?"

Her question stopped me. I inhaled, visualizing drawing in the positive and emptying out the negative. Inhale William, exhale Patrick. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.

I'm about half way through the third and last installment in this series and I'm eager to see how it's going to end. I enjoyed these books a lot more than I expected I would. Scroll down a bit and my reviews are posted for the first two installments!

Fallen Eden by Nicole Williams Review

Title: Fallen Eden
Author: Nicole Williams
Published: July 20th, 2011
Book rating: 4 stars
Cover rating: 3 stars

If happily ever after were a place, twenty-year-old Bryn Dawson would be on the farthest planet from it.
Reduced to stolen glances and secret meetings as they await a Betrothal the Council is bent on stalling, William and Bryn have to settle for happily right now, but with a man like William Hayward at her side, Bryn’s hardly settling.
The day John Townsend sends an army of Immortal mercenaries intent on destroying everyone Bryn loves, she must make the decision generations of star-crossed lovers before her have—live alone or die together. William’s made his decision, Bryn’s the one fate’s waiting on.
But fate will only wait so long until it makes the decision for her.

As a book lover you know what middle book syndrome is right? Well it was NONEXISTENT in this book!!! I bought this immediately after finishing my review for Eternal Eden, sadly I passed out right after and didn't start really reading it until this morning and I couldn't put it down! So much crazy stuff happens in this book it's not even funny. I was depressed for all but 1/4 of it because Bryn has this mental break down and does something completely irrational and crazy. I can't go into to much detail without giving all of the crazy exciting stuff away and ruining the book for you. On the plus side we do get introduced to a few new characters and Paul returns! If you liked Eternal Eden you'll definitely enjoy this one, I think I actually enjoyed it a bit more than the first because Bryn wasn't as annoying to me. I'm so excited to read the last installment to the Eternal Eden trilogy, it is bittersweet but the big question finally gets answered! Will Bryn and William be blessed with the approval of the council and finally be together, will they be forced to run off together and most likely be shunned by both sides of the immortal world, or even worse will they be torn apart forever??

Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams Review

Title: Eternal Eden
Author: Nicole Williams
Published: March 31st, 2011
Book rating: 4 stars
 Cover rating: 5 stars

College sophomore Bryn Dawson is a self-proclaimed poster child for normal. However, the day William Hayward enters her life, normalcy is the last thing Bryn will be able to count on if she wants to be with him. Too mysterious and appealing to be good for a girl, Bryn feels drawn to him in a way that seems out of her control—as if fate is orchestrating it.
Despite every red flag and warning siren going off in her head telling her not to, Bryn falls hard for William, knowing he’s categorically different from anyone she’s ever met. She never imagined how right she was. When William takes her deeper into the rabbit hole of his world, Bryn must decide just how much she is willing to sacrifice to be with him, knowing no matter what, fate always finds a way to have the last laugh.
Spinning a new twist on star-crossed lovers, Eternal Eden will put Bryn through a gauntlet of turmoil, challenging her to find the power within herself to become the heroine in her own story.

So because I just started this blog and I also just started the Eternal Eden series, I've decided this is going to be my first book review. I just finished Eternal Eden and I'm starting the second later tonight! I am a fan of Nicole Williams so when I found out this book was free on amazon I dove right in. Let me start of saying that I LOVE the immortal world Williams has created, it's different from anything else I've read and I honestly don't like overused story lines.

I honestly was really iffy about this story while reading the first half of this book for a few different reasons. Bryn seemed really whiny to me in the beginning and she was utterly clueless about things going on around her. It's like she acted as if things that were going on were normal when they really weren't. Also, whenever William's brother Patrick is introduced and he starts to show odd signs to Bryn as if he has feelings for her it got too Twilight like for me. It was Bella, Edward, and Jacob all over again, but maybe I just was misreading his signs? Other than that I really enjoyed how all of the main characters in this book are really well rounded and very interesting. It had that one character that you loved, the one that you got frustrated with, and the evil villain that you absolutely despise. The plot was really well rounded too, I don't like having to wait around for some action to happen and it seemed like there was action almost right away! I also like how it was an insta-love in disguise for Bryn. Read the book and you'll understand what I mean! I was laughing at some parts and angry at others but it's the books that make me feel something that I like the best. Over all I really enjoyed this book and recommend you check it out. It's free on amazon, so if you have a kindle it wouldn't hurt to check it out. (:

P.S. If you do read this book and enjoy it, The Glassheart Chronicles is also free on amazon and the last chapter of the book is William and Bryn meeting but from Williams point of view. I recommend you read it because I really looked at William in a different way afterwards, you get to know him a bit better!(:
